Join Poynter senior faculty Joie Chen as she speaks with Dr. Jennifer Kates of the Kaiser Family Foundation. You’ll learn the most up-to-date information about who’s not getting the vaccines and why. We’ll also speak with KTRK/ABC13’s anchor Chauncy Glover about his experience with COVID-19 and how he’s helped Houston viewers get the facts about the vaccine. We’ll learn why experts believe local journalists can make a critical difference in keeping communities informed.

• Who is getting vaccinated and why, going beyond partisan and racial lines
• How one local journalist listens, responds and ultimately persuades members of his community to get vaccinated
• What strategies journalists might use to impact vaccine hesitancy in their communities

This On Poynt takes place Wednesday, March 31, 2021, from noon – 12:45 p.m. Eastern.

During the first 30 minutes of the On Poynt, Joie Chen will interview Kates and Glover to learn the most up-to-date information about who’s not getting the vaccines and why. They will discuss the common themes and takeaways. During the final 15 minutes, audience members will have an opportunity to get their questions answered.
