Team, this an historic and incredibly exciting confirmation — Deb Haaland will be the first Native American Secretary of the Interior, and her track record as a fierce advocate for the environment speaks for itself.
Nevada is home to more than 6.5 million acres of protected wilderness areas, and we need a strong leader like Sec. Haaland to protect our public lands.
The Department of the Interior is responsible for everything from climate action, to protecting public lands, to supporting Tribal Nations. These are all of critical importance here in Nevada, and Sec. Haaland more than meets this moment.
