Indivisibles,

We’re only a few days away from the movement-wide Recovery Recess Week of

campaign on members of Congress now! We need everyone -- Indivisibles like

Subject: A bold, inclusive recovery starts with the THRIVE Agenda.

Indivisibles,

This March recess (March 29 - April 11), we’re pivoting to our next major
priority -- a bold and inclusive recovery that helps all Americans achieve
their fundamental human rights and needs. The work begins with the THRIVE
Agenda and taking advantage of the Democratic trifecta which gives us a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make radical change. We must address the
impact of COVID-19 on our communities, as well as the pervasive structural
inequalities that are too often pushed aside for future generations to
solve. We can’t wait any longer -- the consequences are too dire.

We’ve got a few things you can do right now -- [ [link removed] ]first, watch our
explainer video on the THRIVE Agenda. Then, keep reading for more details
on recovery or jump down to the bottom for more to-dos!

The THRIVE Agenda explained

The THRIVE Agenda is a recovery framework that tackles not just the
COVID-19 crisis, but the intersecting crises of catastrophic climate
change, racial injustice, public health, and economic inequality. Our
vision will reshape the economy by grounding the work in climate, jobs,
and justice, and we’ve got to act now.

Democrats want to pass an infrastructure bill and Biden is onboard with
his Build Back Better initiative. The THRIVE Agenda fits into this plan by
providing a policy outline to build a more just society -- one that
enables people to find dignified work, live in healthy communities and a
stable climate, and delivers racial, economic, gender, and environmental
justice.

The THRIVE Agenda adds more specificity to the vision laid out in the
Green New Deal resolution and makes it actionable for policymakers. One of
the tools of the Agenda is the THRIVE Resolution, which lays out eight key
pillars that any recovery package must work towards.

How we can accomplish this bold agenda

In order to pass a truly inclusive recovery package that reflects the
principles of the THRIVE Agenda, we’ve got to put pressure on our members
of Congress to really feel the gap between what has already been passed
(emergency relief) and what is still needed (bold, structural change).
That means underscoring that all people deserve a good life free from
worry about meeting basic needs, with reliable and fulfilling work, and a
dignified and healthy standard of living. It’s the bare minimum, and yet
millions of people in this country do not have access to those human
rights.

The best (and currently most difficult) way for Congress to pass recovery
is through regular order without the filibuster. (You already know why the
filibuster has got to go.) This is the best-case scenario because it would
only take 51 votes to pass and allows us to have big, bold policies
without dealing with Republican concessions or the many rules of
reconciliation. To make this happen, we’re ramping up pressure not just
for the THRIVE Agenda, but for democracy reform, too.

Here’s where you come in

For this March recess, we’re turning up the pressure on our members of
Congress to support a bold, inclusive recovery package and reforms that
strengthen our democracy. [ [link removed] ]Join our Recovery Recess Week of Action to
demand your members of Congress prioritize passing a transformational
recovery package and critical democracy-saving reforms. We’re asking our
senators and representatives to prioritize bold, sweeping democracy reform
while not letting anything (aka the [ [link removed] ]filibuster) get in the way, and to
demand the boldest recovery possible following the THRIVE Agenda.

Here’s how you can get involved:

* [ [link removed] ]Sign up for a THRIVE Agenda 101 session to learn how this
framework meets the needs of our communities, and why we must rise to
this occasion and support this agenda. The next session is on
Saturday, March 27 at 1pm ET.
* [ [link removed] ]Call your representatives and then [ [link removed] ]call your senators to ask
them to support our March recess asks. We have a short window of
opportunity to be heard by our MoCs while they’re back in their
districts.
* [ [link removed] ]Check out our Recovery Recess Week of Action Toolkit. This is your
one-stop-shop for all things Recovery Recess.
* [ [link removed] ]Sign up to attend or host an event for Recovery Recess.
* [ [link removed] ]Read our new filibuster explainer to better understand why reform
isn’t good enough -- we’ve got to abolish the filibuster.

We need everyone to pitch in to make our progressive vision a reality and
that means we can’t lose momentum. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us,
but if February recess was any indicator,  Indivisibles like you are
always ready to put in the work to drive transformational change.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
