I wanted to reach out to you before our Federal Election Commission
quarterly filing deadline in five days with a transparent update on our
fundraising.

campaign before our end-of-quarter fundraising campaign begins in earnest?

quarter total. This number will be seen by everyone, from potential
challengers to Jamaal's seat to the GOP, to determine the strength and
stability of our movement. That's why it's so important that we show up,
show out, and keep our momentum going strong.

Here's a quick update on where we're at with fundraising so far:

* We're currently just over $30,000 short from hitting our
end-of-quarter goal of $225,000. Our finance team did the math, and
$225,000 is how much we'll need going into the second quarter in order
to keep our operations going, and to make critical investments prior
to the 2022 midterms.
* Our fundraising has taken a slight hit over the past couple of months
while we've directed immediate relief to communities that need it the
most. As Jamaal has said multiple times, the goal of this movement is
to address immediate needs while pushing for big, bold policy that
will change people's lives. We were proud to be able to direct more
than $21,000 to progressive organizations, mutual aid groups, and
relief efforts on the ground just over the past month — but it did
mean our campaign fundraising took a hit.
* Facebook finally returned after four months — but we're still
recuperating the losses. As Jamaal continues to legislate in Congress,
our movement continues to grow. But for four months since Election
Day, that growth has been slightly stunted due to a ban on political
advertising on Facebook, which primarily hurt grassroots campaigns
like ours. Now that it's finally back, we're catching up, but need
support on all fronts.
