POLITICO is reporting that political candidates are now having to budget in extra money for "pepper spray, ballistic vests and bulletproof blankets" in the fear that they or their staff might suffer a similar attack to that of the Jan. 6 seige on the Capitol.

In the first three months of 2021, threats against members of Congress have gone up by 93.5% and show no signs of stopping. Lawmakers across the country are putting in requests for federal funding for protective gear, and many report fearing daily for their lives.

Donald Trump and the GOP's four years of continued conspiracy-peddling and empowerment of violent extremists have hurt our country almost to the point of no return, but we're not going to let them harm our democracy any longer -- we're making sure that every Republican who played a part in enabling extremist violence in this country is voted OUT in 2022 and progressive champions are voted IN.

We NEED our progressives to run in 2022, so we're going all in on making sure they have the funding they need to win at the ballot boxes and the resources to protect themselves while doing it. We can't afford to wait months, weeks, or even a few days to get started on ensuring our 2022 candidates are successful -- we need to eradicate extremist enablers from our government once and for all.

We're facing Trump, the GOP, and all of their right-wing donors who are heavily invested in overturning our Democracy. We can't bend now. We have to support our progressives and stop the extremist violence threatening our democracy at all costs, and that starts with you.
