Here's a hard truth, John: Although Democrats hold the White House, the Senate, and the House, our margins are slim.

We have just a five-seat lead on Republicans in the House, and Vice President Harris is the tie-breaking vote in the Senate.

Here's another hard truth: Right now, Republican legislators are not capable of getting anything productive done. They criticize Democrats for partisanship, but they refuse to vote for legislation with bipartisan support from voters.

They're more concerned with a radically right-wing agenda that just doesn't reflect the priorities of the majority of Americans. And, at every possible opportunity, they're blocking Democrats from passing the meaningful legislation that the majority supports.

Our government must continue delivering for the American people. And if Republicans like Mike Garcia won't do it, we need to elect Democrats who will. Can we count you in for a donation to help flip CA-25 once and for all next year?

Here's how partisan Congress has become, John -- not a single Republican in either chamber voted for the American Rescue Plan, even though it is overwhelmingly popular with our people (including a majority of Republican voters!).

This is a bill that will help our country distribute COVID vaccines efficiently and fairly, will provide funding so schools can re-open safely (including $15.3 billion to California public schools), and will cut child poverty in half.

Voting to pass the American Rescue Plan shouldn't have been a hard decision to make.

Thankfully, the bill passed, President Biden signed it, and help is on the way to the millions of Americans who so desperately need it.

But imagine what would've happened if Democrats didn't control the House. The American Rescue Plan never would have gotten through Congress.

We can't predict what the next few years will look like -- or what critical legislation our Democratic leaders might need to pass after the 2022 midterms. But our Democratic House majority is already slim (really, really slim). Just five seats keep us in power.

In next year's elections, we can't afford to lose a single district -- but we have to plan for the reality that we might.

That means that we need to treat every single race like a must-win, and in competitive districts like ours, where Democrats could pick up a seat, we absolutely have to come out on top.

Mike Garcia hasn't done anything to serve the 25th district during his time in office -- not even vote to send us COVID-19 relief. It's time for new leadership.
