John,
Don't forget: next Friday (April 2nd!) is National Out to Win Day -- our annual event to encourage LGBTQ people to consider a run for office and make positive change for our community. We know that LGBTQ people, women, and people of color have to be asked more times before they decide to run. We want to be their first ask - and we want them to say yes!
But in order to make this day a success, we need help spreading the word. On April 2nd, consider posting one of Victory Institute's recommended posts and social media graphics. You can find all the information here. [[link removed]]
National Out to Win Day is a day to celebrate the huge steps forward this community has made, and to honor those that have run before. 42 years ago on April 2nd, Kathy Kozachenko won her race for the Ann Arbor City Council, becoming the first openly LGBTQ person ever elected in the United States. Each year, we honor Kathy's historic victory and raise awareness about the importance of LGBTQ representation, while inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.
We’ll be in touch soon with more information, exciting announcements - including a surprise panel - and so much more. So mark your calendars for April 2nd, and get ready for the best National Out to Win Day yet. In the meantime, help Victory Institute spread the word by sharing our social media toolkits. You can find graphics and recommended posts here! [[link removed]]
