Good afternoon
Tuesday marked the anniversary of the first UK lockdown. Amongst the concerns
and questions about the people we love and when we would next be able to seen
them, about work and grocery shopping, about the NHS and the incredible people
who work for it, the team at Dignity in Dying - like campaign organisations and
charities across the world - had a lot of questions about what the rest of 2020
would look like for the fight for change.
Our main question was this - would our supporters want to hear about the fight
for choice at the end of life when death tolls were suddenly being broadcast
into our living rooms?
You showed us the answer was yes. You came through for the campaign in a way we
never expected. Since March last year, you've donated in your thousands, breaking our previous
fundraising records. This enabled us to continue to challenge the medical
establishment, hold some of the most successful parliamentary meetings in our
history and even write a book

Nearly 1000 of you have attended one of our ‘meet your MP’ webinars and gone on
to change the minds of more than 100 MPs. This would be a success in any year, but given the year we’ve just had this
progress is simply staggering - and it’s all thanks to you. This has allowed us
to be more ambitious, speeding up the timeline for change. The stars are
aligning and we’re on track to change the law by then end of this Parliament.
Thank you.
There is still so much to be done - thank you for proving that we can count on
your support to help us do it.
One way that you can ensure we have the long term support we need to succeed
beyond the pandemic is to join us as a member

further ahead, knowing that we can rely on your generosity to power the fight
for change.

Thank you again for everything you’ve enabled us to accomplish during an
incredibly challenging year, and for allowing us to look beyond the pandemic
with optimism, hope, and the backing we need to succeed.
Together we will change the law.
