With this week's mass shooting in Boulder, we are once again reminded of the desperate need to combat gun violence in this country. After two shootings less than a week apart, one would hope all of Colorado's representatives would mobilize to take fierce action to prevent any future tragedies.
However, Lauren Boebert wasted no time getting her backward views heard. Mere hours after the shooting, she sent a fundraising email with the lines "they want to take our guns" and "help me stand up to the radical gun-grabbing left." This comes immediately after Rep. Boebert tweeting about the "China Virus" hours after a shooting targeting Asian-Americans. When we need leadership, we get lunacy.
Not only has she refused to speak critically and compassionately on the topic, but she has also tweeted multiple thinly-veiled racist attempts to turn the conversation against immigrants. Compassion or the safety of her constituents is not her concern.
