The National Republican Congressional Committee is targeting my race and they're doing everything they can to attack my progressive record and stop our people powered, grassroots movement.

They've hand-picked a new Republican candidate to run against me and are doing everything in their power to distract Oregon voters. They're even touting my Democratic primary opponent in an attempt to drain my campaign resources and weaken my candidacy next Spring! They'll truly stop at nothing to slow us down.

They received a green-light in 2016 because this district was the closest race in country in the presidential election, which Hillary Clinton won by only 554 votes. This district is one of the most politically divided in the country; a true purple battleground where Trump continues to have strong support.

They think they have a shot to manipulate primary voters by flooding this district with millions of dollars of attack ads, paving the way for their hand-selected Trump puppet candidate.

Following Special Counsel Mueller's testimony and report - which detailed multiple instances of obstruction of justice by President Trump - I broke with my party's leadership and called for a formal impeachment inquiry. After Trump clearly betrayed our country and Constitution and abused his power by asking Ukraine to meddle in the 2020 election, we are finally beginning an impeachment inquiry.

They're targeting me because they know that as Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I will forcefully pursue the financial records of the Trump Hotel and hold GSA accountable for looking the other way while the president uses a taxpayer-owned federal building to launder gifts from foreign officials.

I'm making real tangible change in Congress and I won't stop fighting for working Americans and to hold the president and his administration accountable for their self-dealing.
