John,

Our country and institutions are in need of a reconstruction, and Emerge President A’shanti Gholar and I agree that electing more women of color is critical to building a more just and equitable society.

Emerge’s investment in communities across the country gets us closer to widespread gender and racial representation — at every level of government.

This Women's History Month, Emerge has set a goal of raising $12,000, and I have no doubt they can hit it with the support of folks just like you. If you’re able, John, make a contribution to support their work to elect more women of color. [[link removed]]

I am so proud to have been a founding board member of Emerge Massachusetts, and to continue to support Emerge and their 4,500 alums across the country.

Emerge is so special, in part because of their reach and the depth of their engagement. If you took a poll of women running for office across the country — or even just considering a campaign — many of them would likely have talked with A’shanti or one of the incredible Executive Directors on the ground in their community.

Now, more than ever, we need women in elected office who remain rooted in community and ready to pursue bold solutions to the pressing challenges we face. That’s who Emerge is committed to supporting.

You may have heard me say that support is a verb, especially when you are building something new. It is a demonstrated action, so if you can, please contribute to support this critical work so they can continue to train and work to elect more women of color. [[link removed]]

Thank you for joining me as a part of this amazing community,

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley

This email was sent to [email protected]. Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
