The bills that we are advocating for would protect LGBTQ elders in long-term care facilities from discrimination, make it easier for people to update state-issued documents in accordance with their gender identities, and improve the accuracy of hate crimes reporting across New York State so that we can develop a more restorative, effective response to the violence that marginalized communities experience.
