We are fighting within the halls of Congress to advance clean energy, climate change solutions, and environmental justice while protecting our air, water, wildlife and public lands. Thanks to supporters like you, SEEC PAC had some huge successes in the 2020 elections. We were able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats.
And those election results had real impacts. A few months later we successfully pushed for pro-environment measures in the $1.4 trillion omnibus government spending package including renewable energy tax credit extensions, a ramp down of HFC pollution, and increased funding for clean energy R&D programs within the Department of Energy to help support an economic recovery that also puts us on a path to decarbonize our economy.
Taken together, outside organizations estimate that the green policies we pushed for will help prevent 949 million tons of carbon dioxide from being emitted by 2035. Progress like this is critically important as we work to undo the damage of the Trump Administration and work to save our planet.
