Earlier this week, Governor Holcomb drew up our game plan for the fourth quarter of the pandemic. As he said, Indiana is in a better place now than we were 3 months ago and we’re moving forward because of the diligence of Hoosiers. Because of that diligence and our best-in-the-nation vaccine rollout, the governor outlined a number of important changes for our state. Beginning March 31, ALL HOOSIERS 16 and over will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, on April 6 all statewide restrictions on businesses and capacity limits at bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues will end, as will the statewide mask mandate. We must remain vigilant and take proper precautions, but the governor’s announcements this week give us additional hope that the spring and summer will be seasons of recovery and rejuvenation in Indiana.
Also this week, your Indiana Republican State Committee met to elect officers for the next four years. I was honored to be reelected to a new four-year term. The mission in 2022 is reelecting Senator Todd Young and our House delegation, protecting our legislative supermajorities, and electing our Republican statewide candidates. That work begins now. I’m excited to partner with Vice chair Holli Sullivan, Treasurer Chuck Williams, Secretary Mary Martin, and the rest of the Republican team to keep our winning streak going.
I know I joined many of you in watching March Madness games this past week. I also likely joined many of you in having a busted bracket! However poorly our predictions may have turned out, I think we can all take pride in seeing some of our great basketball cathedrals—Assembly Hall, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, The Coliseum, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Lucas Oil Stadium, and Mackey Arena—safely host the most exciting sports weekend of the year. As the tournaments enters it’s second weekend, I wanted to offer my thanks and congratulations to the army of professionals and volunteers that’s made this possible.
Thanks
Kyle

Governor Holcomb's Week That Was
We're in the Fourth Quarter
On Tuesday, Governor Holcomb delivered a statewide address to speak to Hoosiers about moving forward in our fight against COVID-19. As Governor Holcomb said, we’re entering the fourth quarter in our pandemic response. Vaccine availability is such that we can continue moving forward and soon, hopefully, put the pandemic in the rearview mirror.
“Today, we’re in a different and better place,” Governor Holcomb.
Here are some ways we’re moving forward over the next few weeks:
On March 31, ALL Hoosiers aged 16 and over will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
This is made possible by Indiana’s best-in-the-nation vaccine rollout and increases in vaccine allotments from the federal government
The state will schedule additional mass vaccination clinics. We’ll make sure to share details as they become available.
To schedule your vaccine appointment call 2-1-1 or visit ourshot.in.gov.
On April 6, statewide business restrictions and capacity limits at bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues will end.
All decisions about capacity limits will be made by local officials
Also on April 6, the statewide mask mandate will expire.
Face coverings will remain mandatory in all state facilities and all COVID testing and vaccination sites.
K-12 schools will continue operating under current requirements through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year
Governor Holcomb shared some important data points that demonstrate that Hoosier vigilance is having a positive impact in fighting the virus. Our current cases, positivity rate, hospitalization and deaths have all dropped drastically:
The state has the capacity to test 50,000 Hoosiers A DAY for COVID-19. Last spring we could only do a couple hundred a day.
Only 4.6% of ICU beds are being used to treat COVID patients; last fall it was 44%.
Approximately 600 Hoosiers are hospitalized for COVID. Last December it was 3,500.
More than 970,000 Hoosiers are fully vaccinated. That number is growing every day.
27% of Hoosiers have had at least the first dose of vaccine.
As Indiana moves forward, it is still important to:
Isolate if you test positive for COVID-19
Follow CDC guidelines if you’re a close contact to someone who is COVID positive
Stay home if you are sick
If you have symptoms, get tested. Testing is still free
Social distance where you can
Wash your hands and be uber cautious around at-risk populations
“As we continue to do these few things, the light at the end of the tunnel becomes brighter and brighter.” -Governor Holcomb

COVID-19 Vaccine News
Governor Holcomb and the Indiana State Department of Health are continuing to lead one of the most effective vaccine rollouts in the nation. COVID-19 vaccine eligibility expanded again this week to Hoosiers aged 40 and up.
And that's not all the good news we have to share this week! Beginning March 31, ALL HOOSIERS 16 and over will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
To find out if you’re eligible and to schedule your shot, call 211 or go to ourshot.in.gov.
Governor Holcomb and the First Lady Janet Holcomb had the honor to meet the Loyola Ramblers' number one fan, Sister Jean! We wish her the best as she continues to enjoy her time in Indiana.
