Dear Friend,
Tomorrow, Friday, March 26 is a nationwide virtual Day of Action and Healing to address the rise in anti-Asian discrimination and hate crimes. During the day, victims will share their stories and Americans will stand united against bigotry toward the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
Please join me for a live conversation on anti-Asian hate crimes and what we can do to keep ourselves and others safe!
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our country has experienced an alarming spike in anti-Asian discrimination and hate, including last week's shooting in Georgia that targeted three Asian-owned businesses and killed eight people, six of whom were Asian women. The San Gabriel Valley has a vibrant AAPI community, and too many of our friends and neighbors have been living in fear of being attacked based on their race or national origin.
As chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), I will be hosting a conversation on Facebook Live which will feature testimony from victims of anti-Asian hate crimes, as well as community members and other Congressmembers from Los Angeles County.
I invite you to join me and share your experiences so I can read them during the conversation. I hope you will be able to take part in this day of solidarity and join my event on Friday, March 26 at 11a.m. PT.
Sincerely,
Judy Chu, PhD
Member of Congress
