Friend,

On January 6 we saw just how dangerous conspiracy theories can be. Those of us who serve in Congress get a reminder every time we see a National Guard member patrolling the US Capitol complex, or pass through the new gate surrounding it.

Earlier this month, US Capitol Police came upon intelligence about a potential plan to breach the Capitol on March 4, a date significant to QAnon believers. Tensions were high and the House decided not to conduct business that day.

Months after January 6, people who believe in QAnon conspiracy theories are still a threat.

I believe it's more important than ever that Congress pass my bill to ensure that no QAnon adherents are able to get a Top Secret security clearance and to access classified information. If you agree, will you add your name now?

I've been clear about what I believe: People who either participated in the Capitol attack or supported it by giving credence to QAnon conspiracy theories should not be entrusted with our nation's secrets. I'm basing that on my experience working in national security at the Pentagon. We just can't allow people with these dangerous delusions to have access to sensitive security information.

I think it's pretty simple, but certain extremist commentators have attacked me for taking this position. That's not important to me -- what's important is what my constituents think.

Friend, if you support my legislation to prevent QAnon adherents from receiving Top Secret security clearances, will you add your name?
