John,
Our grassroots team is growing and I wanted to make sure you saw Lexie's email from yesterday. Having Lexie join this team is an exciting moment. She brings a wealth of experience and unique perspective to our campaign.
Lexie is an important first addition to our grassroots team and I hope you'll show her the same support you've always shown me.
This is a big step for the future of our campaign -- and we're going to continue to grow in the coming months. But ensuring we have the resources to hire more staff like Lexie and reach Kansans from across the state means we have to make sure we stay on track.
Will you help us continue to grow our team by making sure we stay on track? Read Lexie's email below, then pitch in $5, or whatever you can, today.
Thank you,
Laura

Subject: My job isn't just about crunching numbers
Hey there -- allow me to introduce myself, I'm Lexie Kelly (no relation!), Laura's new Finance Director.
My job might be all about numbers and making sure we stay on track to hit our fundraising goals, but joining this grassroots team was about more than hitting goals. As Governor, Laura has led the people of Kansas with pragmatic and practical solutions that invest in the future of the state. She's fought for Kansas' schools, rural health care providers, the economy, and so much more.
I'm hitting the ground running during my first month with an urgent request: Will you pitch in $5, or whatever you can right now? Every dollar we raise helps us get back on track for the month.
Listen, I didn't join this campaign because I thought Laura's re-election would be easy. In fact, Inside Elections, Cook Political Report, and The Kansas City Star are all saying this race will be one of the closest in the country.
This is a race that could easily come down to who is able to raise more money in the early days of their campaign -- which is why the first few months of my job are absolutely crucial to our team's success. Hitting our fundraising quotas means we'll have more resources to reach Kansans from across the state -- through email, online events, and targeted advertising strategies -- and continue to grow our team.
Falling behind now is not an option. Chip in $5, or whatever you can right away to help us get our fundraising back on track.
Thank you,
Lexie
