Dear friend,

Today, the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance
(EACH) Act was reintroduced in Congress. This federal bill would
ensure that every person who receives health care or insurance through
the federal government would also have coverage for abortion care.

The EACH Act would reverse the harmful Hyde Amendment and related bans
on abortion coverage that push care out of reach for the millions of
people who are enrolled in a federal health insurance program like
Medicaid-or who receive health care from a government provider
like the Indian Health Service or the Veterans Administration.

Abortion coverage bans compound the barriers to care many people
already face due to systemic discrimination and economic insecurity.
Black, Indigenous and people of color are among those most harmed by
abortion restrictions, and bans like the Hyde Amendment can have
long-lasting impacts on people's health, well-being, and
financial security.

This vital legislation is led in the House of Representatives by
Congressmembers Barbara Lee, Ayanna Pressley, Diana DeGette, and Jan
Schakowsky, and by Senators Tammy Duckworth, Patty Murray, and Mazie
Hirono in the Senate.

Lifting abortion coverage bans is an essential step toward equity in
abortion access. The Center is proudly part of a broad coalition, led
by All* Above All, of more than 100 organizations supporting the EACH
Act.

It's time to ensure that every person can make their own decisions
about pregnancy, no matter how they get their insurance, where they
live, or how much money they earn. It's time for the EACH Act.

In solidarity,
