Friends,
Join us next Thursday for our April general meeting featuring Walter Alcorn, who represents the Hunter Mill District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
Supervisor Alcorn is the chair of the board’s Transportation Committee and serves on the WMATA Board of Directors. He will speak with us next week about his environmental priorities—not just reducing emissions from the transportation sector, but his priorities across the board.
RSVP today for next week’s general meeting!
Supervisor Alcorn has lived with his family in the Hunter Mill District for 25 years. He attended the University of Virginia, where he protested Apartheid and revived an old satire magazine. After Charlottesville, he worked in the Providence District supervisor’s office for four years. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on an environmental career that continues to this day.
Alcorn has served on several county boards and commissions, most notably the Planning Commission for 16 years, followed by two years on the Park Authority Board. While on the Planning Commission, he led numerous initiatives, including the school proffer policy, the workforce housing policy, and Tysons re-planning.
We are excited to welcome Supervisor Alcorn to our virtual meeting space and to give you the opportunity to ask all your burning questions about local environmental issues.
RSVP today to receive the login info for the meeting.
Yours in action,
