Donate new beginnings for those in need

Friend,

Something caught my eye on a walk the other day. A tiny cluster of daffodils had pushed up from the still-chilly ground. I felt a sense of joy for this new season, after a long winter, and a long year.

I hope you feel the promise of new life this spring. The truth is, thanks to supporters like you, new beginnings happened every single day this past year, even in the midst of a pandemic. People struggling severely—homeless veterans, frightened low-income seniors, hungry families—found hope and a path for new life through emergency support and care from Volunteers of America.

The crisis is far from over, though. Please help provide essential meals, shelter, and other needed care.

Many people who never had to ask before, found themselves out of options, like Kyle, an army veteran who became homeless during the pandemic.

“I had a feeling 2020 might be a rough year, but I never expected I would be homeless, dependent on the kindness of strangers.”

There are many people like Kyle, still grappling with economic hardships and impacts of Covid-19, so I have to ask: Can you make a donation to meet the continuing demands of shelter, food, and emergency care, for neighbors in your community?

Kyle now has a safe place to live, and he's re-establishing his life and independence with the help of VOA’s veteran services.

You give life to those we serve! Thank you for being part of this dedicated network of supporters. The work calls us now, more than ever, but where there is love and dedicated support, there will always be new beginnings!

Gratefully,
Mike King, President and CEO
Volunteers of America

P.S. Don’t wait to help. Many families continue fighting for basic needs, in a pandemic whose effects will be with us for months or longer; but our generosity is stronger!
