Join us for the People's Day of Action

Friend,

Today, we are thrilled to announce that NextGen America’s new executive director will be Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez.

Cristina has founded and led some of the most creative organizations for young and immigrant workers in the United States. Through her work, she has brought tens of thousands of new voters of color into the political process.

She spearheaded the passage of legislation on student debt, workers' rights, and economic development that has impacted the lives of hundreds of Texans and taken on some of the most powerful political forces in the Lone Star State.

At age 24, Cristina founded her first non-profit, Workers Defense Project, and she successfully led the organization for a decade, building the organization from a small volunteer project into one of the largest and most respected progressive organizations in Texas.

In the wake of the 2016 election, she founded Jolt, a statewide Texas organization that has reached tens of millions of Americans and used innovative cultural strategies to engage a new generation of young Latino voters.

As a former 2020 U.S. Senate candidate herself, Cristina knows firsthand the importance of young leaders stepping up and challenging that status quo that has failed the youngest generations. As a former candidate, she understands how to build electoral coalitions and advocate for our core values at the ballot box.

NextGen America

The entire team is ecstatic to have Cristina bring her vision and experience to strengthen and refine our continued organizing campaigns.

We are incredibly excited to enter this new chapter in NextGen’s ongoing efforts to build lasting political power for young people in the United States — and we hope you’ll join us.

Help us welcome Cristina to the NextGen community. Reply directly to this email to greet our new executive director and let us know what you’d like to see from our team in the coming year.

Thank you,

NextGen America

P.S. Want to see a deep dive into how young people turned out in 2020? Join us on Thursday, April 1 to hear about what we’ve learned and how it informs our work as we look ahead to 2022.
