Dear John, We have an important chance for Congress to pass a transformational economic recovery and infrastructure package that puts 15 million people to work in good, family-sustaining climate and care jobs, delivers real climate solutions, and advances racial, Indigenous, gender, and economic justice. How? By demonstrating mass grassroots support for bold action focused on climate, care, jobs, and justice. Our members, like the Miami Workers Center, are tirelessly advocating for the ‘Femme Agenda’ to end feminization of poverty and provide dignified jobs for care and domestic workers. Our communities have been directly impacted by the intersecting crises of this moment and we should be setting the tone for a recovery! Congress goes into recess on March 29, opening a strategic window to increase pressure for bold action on the climate crisis and flagging economy when legislators are back in our districts. Our actions during the recess can
affect the scale and focus of this legislative package, like the creation of climate and care jobs, and the prioritization of tribal sovereignty, and racial and economic justice. What can you do? - Share our resource action map!

From Relief to Recovery! Earlier this month, both houses
of Congress passed the American Rescue Plan — a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 economic recovery package. Thanks to the diligent organizing of millions of people, like you, calling for a People’s Bailout, the bill includes huge investments for working people. We won investments to mobilize a robust public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in SNAP (food stamps) benefits, billions of dollars in support for child care and child care providers, emergency housing assistance, $1400 stimulus checks, and one of the largest influxes of federal
funding to support tribes and Indigenous communities in history. This is just the beginning of what we need to build an economy for the people and the planet. While Congress goes on recess next month, millions of people are demanding that Congress pass the THRIVE Act—a full-scale recovery package that invests in the most-impacted communities, creates over 15 million jobs, and confronts climate chaos by accelerating a just transition to a regenerative economy. Join GGJ and our members to demand a recovery that serves the people!
