Appointing a New Executive Department

The first few months of a new president’s term is a flurry of action. It is during this time that the president generally fulfills one of their most important constitutional duties—appointing new members of the executive department. What is the process for carrying out these appointments? And how does this procedure demonstrate important constitutional principles?
