John -- An incredible New York Times report reveals the conservative group, Heritage Action for America, is investing $24 million to enact voter suppression laws in eight swing states.
“An internal document” from Heritage reveals a two-year plan to produce and replicate legislation to disenfranchise voters. One of their incubator states is Georgia, where a voter suppression omnibus is on the verge of passing.
We must fight back. I’m asking you to support our grassroots work to protect voting rights in swing states. Republican dark money is powerful but contacting voters early and often can counteract their sabotage.
Their roadmap is on display in Georgia where the GOP is working to implement:
>>> Vote by mail ID -- yes, that's right, voters would have to turn in additional documentation to vote from home
>>> Restrict drop boxes, making them only available during business hours, eliminating the convenience factor and making it harder for people to return their ballots on time
>>> Eliminate early voting on Saturday and Sunday during runoff elections, which were the highest turnout days in the 2021 U.S. Senate races where Democrats flipped two seats
And this is just their opening salvo. The right-wing Heritage group wants to reproduce this voter suppression legislation in Arizona, Wisconsin, Iowa and every other swing state.
I’m asking you to invest in our grassroots group so we can fight back and organize year-round in swing states.
Vote From Home is organizing year-round in swing states to counteract this money and Republican efforts to limit access to the ballot box. It’s the only way we can stop their influence and the millions of dollars in dark money already invested to restrict voting rights in 2022.
