Freedom House awarded the 2020 Mark Palmer Prize to Linas Linkevičius, former Lithuanian minister of foreign affairs, for his extraordinary efforts to combat political repression in Belarus and Russia, provide safe haven for Russian human rights defenders fleeing persecution, and mobilize assistance from the Lithuanian government to the Belarusian pro-democracy movement.
Join us on Thursday, April 1 to recognize Minister Linkevičius, whose exemplary service embodies the legacy of the late US ambassador Mark Palmer, for whom the Palmer Prize is named.
