Hi John,

One year ago today, New Zealand went into Alert Level 4 lockdown.

We’ve come a long way over the past year, but it hasn’t always been easy. So today, as we mark a year since we retreated into our bubbles, I want to take a moment to reflect on all we’ve achieved together over the past 12 months, and what our plans are going forward. My thoughts were a little too long for one email, so I’ve posted them over on our website <[link removed]>.

If you’re interested, you can read my reflections on moving to Alert Level 4, and our ongoing response, here. <[link removed]>

Before I go, I also want to say a huge thank you for being part of the team of five million. New Zealand would not be where we are today without the team’s efforts, and it took everyone doing their bit to make it work.

It’s been a very long year since 25 March 2020, but we’ve come so far, and I know that we can make it through together.

Thanks,

Jacinda
