Dear friends –
It has been a very difficult week. Our thoughts are with the families and communities of all impacted by the shooting in Colorado on Monday, which is the most recent of 104 mass shootings in 2021. Over the past week alone, our country has endured eight mass shootings. These shootings are not isolated, but rather a pattern of the gun violence crisis in this country--a crisis that disproportionately impacts communities of color.
While rates of gun violence have continued to increase, our movement has continued to mobilize to demand change nationally, and locally. We are hosting our next Monthly Building Community Call on Tuesday, March 30th at 3PM EST / 2PM CST.
We will be joined by:
Our guest speakers will talk about their work on the frontlines, and on the invaluable leadership of people of color, particularly women and queer leaders, in the fight to end gun violence.
We hope you can join us to hear from our guest speakers and from CJAF staff about our latest policy and advocacy campaigns and organizing efforts to help end gun violence.
Please RSVP here, and share this invite across your networks!
In solidarity,
Thia’a Rahman
