John, Trump appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is at it again.

DeJoy just released his 10-year plan to “save” the postal service, and it includes doubling delivery times, raising the cost of postage, closing local post offices across the country, and reducing the hours remaining post offices are open to the public.

In short, DeJoy’s plan would actually end the post office, not save it. Which of course, isn’t a surprise at all. The Republican Party has been trying to privatize and destroy the USPS for decades and Louis DeJoy has been a Republican Mega-Donor for years. That’s why Trump appointed him.

Now imagine a new Postmaster General.

Someone who gets that drug prescriptions, credit card bills and mortgage payments need to be delivered on time.

Someone who will increase revenue by providing new services like checking cashing and simple banking services.

Someone who understands that USPS is a service, not a for-profit business.

Imagine a real leader who cares about actually saving the USPS instead of doing whatever he can to destroy it.
