Last Chance for Animals (LCA) is speaking out against Aloha Rodeo, a live-action movie in the early stages of development at Disney Plus that will glorify the cruel and deadly rodeo industry.

Aloha Rodeo, based on a book by the same title, follows three Hawaiians as they compete and win steer roping competitions at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1908. Founded in 1897, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo is one of the oldest and deadliest rodeos in the United States; each year, animals die in rodeo events or suffer injuries so extensive they have to be killed. A 2011 article in the Wyoming Tribune Eagle acknowledged animal death rates at Cheyenne Frontier Days are higher than other rodeos.
"Disney is a leader in the entertainment industry and should be promoting respect and compassion towards all living creatures. Instead, Disney is choosing to make a movie glorifying the rodeo industry, which inflicts violence and terror upon animals. At a time when we need compassion, peace, and understanding in the world, Disney should not be glorifying an industry that promotes animal abuse," states Chris DeRose, LCA Founder & President.
