Hello,

Words fail to describe the mix of sorrow, anger, and sympathy that so many of us feel today.

Less than a week passed between the shootings in Atlanta and a mass shooting in Boulder this Monday. This time, 10 people were killed, including the first police officer to arrive at the scene.

While the motive remains unclear, what we do know is that mass shootings have become far too common in this Nation, in part because too many US Senators continue to refuse to take action.

I will continue to pray for the families who lost loved ones yesterday, just as I did after the shootings in Atlanta, Sandy Hook, Parkland, Charleston, Las Vegas, and so many others. I will also pray that my colleagues will find the strength to stop that list from continuing to grow.

Two weeks ago, the House passed two gun bills that would take action to stop mass shootings, including a bill to require universal background checks for all gun sales and transfers. I look forward to voting for similar legislation in the Senate, but I need at least 10 of my Republican colleagues to join me and the Democratic majority to make these bills law.

Will you join me in asking Senate Republicans to vote for commonsense gun reform immediately? Add your name and demand action to prevent future mass shootings.

We can't allow this cycle of mass shootings to continue. It's up to all of us to demand action now.

Thank you for doing your part,

Bob
