Hi John,
A serious note today, because white supremacy and gun violence continue to take so much from us.
Last week’s tragic, anti-AAPI-motivated murders in Atlanta were painful for so many in our community -- if you are grieving, angry, or hurting, please know: The Run for Something team sees you and has your back.
It's heartbreaking that we've only had a few moments to grieve because the wheel of violence continues to turn in America. On Monday, a gunman killed 10 people at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado.
These all too familiar events could have been prevented. They are painful reminders that too many of our elected leaders are unfit or unwilling to pass commonsense legislation to keep people safe.
Our role at Run for Something is to replace them with leaders who care, who are willing to fight unendingly for change.
Run for Something is deeply committed to our efforts to elect new leaders who are dedicated to addressing the roots of so many of these mass shootings: disturbingly easy access to guns, white supremacy, and misogyny.
Elections will not solve all our society's problems, but we believe better, more reflective leadership is certainly one part of the solution.
So today, we're asking you,
if you're a young, progressive activist ready to break the wheel: Sign up to Run for Something. We are committed to helping you drive progress in your community.
If you're not ready to run but you know someone who is -- please share this email or this link with them:
