MOAC Nominations for Conference Boards, Committees, Teams and Work Areas
Members to Missouri Conference leadership (i.e., boards, committees, teams and work areas like the Board of Trustees, Congregational Development team, Finance and Administration Council, Values team) are nominated on a quadrennial basis (four-year terms) by the Nominations Committee. In order for the Nominations Committee to make selections for the Conference leadership, nominees must be in the Conference leadership pool. For a full list of Missouri Conference boards, committees, teams and work areas, please see page of 5-8 of the Standing Rules listed in the [link removed] 2018 Journal (the 2019 Journal is still being finalized). For a list of current membership to those boards, committee, teams and work areas, visit the [link removed] nominations report voted on during the 2019 Annual Conference.
Members to the Board of Ordained Ministry (BOM) are nominated by the presiding bishop after consultation with the chairperson of the board, the executive committee, or a committee elected by the board of the previous quadrennium, and with the cabinet (¶635.1a). Members to district committees on ordained ministry (dCOM) are nominated annually by the district superintendent in consultation with the chairperson or executive committee of the Board of Ordained Ministry (¶666.1). The Nominations Committee does not make selections for BOM, dCOM or the Administrative Review Committee (¶636), Committee on Investigation (¶2703.1), Diaconal Committee on Investigation (¶2703.2) which are all nominated by the bishop.
The Nominations Committee strives to offer leaders to Conference boards, committee, teams and work areas that is diverse. The process is monitored by a member of the Values team to ensure that diversity. Demographic statistics of Conference leadership are available by contacting the Office of Connectional Ministries. That said, the committee is restricted to those nominated into the leadership pool. Any professing member to a Missouri local church or licensed, provisional or ordained clergyperson may be nominated into the leadership pool. Nominees are not considered “in the pool” until they have completed the profile as well as a spiritual gifts inventory.
Nominations Process (Any lay or clergy member of the annual conference can nominate someone and you can self-nominate, too.)

Global Mission Fellows Accepts Applications from Young Adults Who Feel Called to See Differently and Serve Differently
The Global Mission Fellows Program is accepting applications through Jan 7, 2020. All who fall within the age range and who are passionate about putting their faith into action while addressing the root causes of injustice are encouraged to apply.
The Global Mission Fellowship offers placement opportunities within the United States and internationally. Once accepted, candidates are matched with partner organizations which support community development and they enter into the faith life of the local community to form lasting relationships. Each fellow becomes a part of a cohort of other Global Mission Fellows and the group t rain s and regroups with the same young adults throughout their two years of serv ice. This provides a framework of support and community for each Global Mission Fellow as they share in their individual journey.

Missouri Bishop Bob Farr, his wife Susan and a group of fellow Methodist motorcycle riders departed St. Louis late Sunday afternoon on a cross-state ride in support of the Mozambique Initiative. The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness and money to purchase motorcycles for United Methodist pastors in Mozambique. In remote areas that lack good roads motorcycles are the most common and practical form of transportation. For the Missouri ride, supporters are encouraged to donate per mile ridden. The riders are in Springfield tonight and will ride to Kansas City tomorrow. There is no fee to participate in the ride, and riders are welcome to come and go, riding short segments with the group along the way.
