In the wake of the horrific mass shooting in Boulder, Ted Cruz has once again shown zero empathy for the families faced with the worst tragedy imaginable. He quickly politicized the response of President Biden and trafficked his typical bad-faith arguments meant to serve his donors in the gun lobby.
At a Senate committee hearing yesterday he said:
“Every time there’s a shooting, we play this ridiculous theater where this committee gets together and proposes a bunch of laws that would do nothing to stop these murders.”
Outrageous. Add your name to our petition to condemn Ted Cruz for standing in the way of gun safety reform that would prevent more tragedies like the ones in Boulder and Atlanta.
For years, as the nation has witnessed mass shooting after mass shooting, many of them perpetrated with AR-15 assault weapons, Ted Cruz has been unwavering in his support for the gun lobby...
Cruz simply doesn’t care how many people die because of his refusal to support even modest gun safety reform. He only cares about how much money he’ll be getting from the gun lobby when he runs for re-election.
President Biden offered modest, common-sense action that we could immediately take to reduce the risk of more mass shootings:

Requiring background checks for EVERYONE who wants to purchase a firearm
