One of the
biggest obstacles to passing Medicare for All is the influence of
corporate PAC money.
Health insurance companies, for-profit providers, and Big Pharma donated
millions of dollars to Republicans and Democrats in Congress last election
cycle. When elected officials accept this money, they set back our fight
for guaranteed health care for all.
But it’s my belief that our fight in Congress must be for the people, not
for health insurance executives. Lawmakers must guarantee health care for
everyone, not guarantee profits for corporations. It is one of the
greatest injustices of our time that folks can’t get the care they need in
the richest country in the world.
[ [link removed] ]That’s why I don’t take a cent of corporate PAC money and it’s why I
fight for Medicare for All. But it’s going to take a lot of work and
organizing to overcome the rich and powerful so we can finally guarantee
health care for all. Can you help fuel this necessary movement for M4A
with a donation today?

Let’s take a quick look at just one example — the PAC for Cigna, a health
insurance company. Not only did its overall contributions to candidates go
way up last cycle, it contributed more money to Democrats than
Republicans. Here’s Cigna Corp. PAC’s spending over time:

But we know Cigna isn’t alone. Health insurance companies and for-profit
providers give so much money to Democrats and Republicans in Congress to
protect their profits and the very system in America that enables them to
bring in those profits. Medicare for All would finally end that system.
[ [link removed] ]We’re up against Big Money and the deadly, for-profit status quo. Our
fight to change this will take contributions from all of us — people all
across America. Can you chip in now to help power our movement for
Medicare for All?
In solidarity,
Pramila
