These voucher bills would force taxpayers to fund religious education, and they’re multiplying across the U.S.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friend,

Many state legislatures are nearing the end of their sessions, and that means it’s crunch time for our efforts to stop private school voucher bills. Here’s the latest update from our state policy team:

112
High-priority voucher bills are being tracked by AU

Our team is working overtime to organize opposition to these bills and protect public funds for public schools, but we could do even more with your urgent support.

TAKE ACTION: Help us generate 112 special donations to our anti-voucher work in the next 48 hours, one for each bill. Click here to make your gift right away.

STOP SCHOOL VOUCHERS

Private school vouchers violate the fundamental principle of religious freedom, friend: They force taxpayers to fund religious education and, in many cases, even outright discrimination.

It’s not the government’s place to use our tax dollars to fund a religion, but these 112 bills in 37 states will do just that. Private school voucher programs will be greatly expanded or even created from scratch, unless AU and our state allies can successfully oppose them.

A boost of member support for our efforts right now could make the difference.

Click here to help us hit our goal of 112 special donations to stop private school vouchers – one gift for every high-priority bill we need to defeat right now.

Thank you for your generous support at this crucial time. The momentum is starting to turn against taxpayer funding of private religious schools, but we can’t let up now. Not when so much is at stake in so many states across America.

Sincerely,

Maggie Garrett
VP of Public Policy
