"A creature of white supremacy"1 -- unless the Senate acts, the filibuster will be abused yet again to block progress. Add your name now if you agree the Senate needs to reform the filibuster NOW »

John,

Grassroots activists here in Philadelphia dedicated tens of hundreds of hours toward electing President Joe Biden and flipping the Senate blue. Because of their endless dedication, long overdue legislation could become law this year:

But here's the truth: Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans will filibuster most, if not ALL, of these critical pieces of legislation to prevent progress for hardworking people.

The filibuster was created to encourage debate, but instead it has transformed into a tool used by extremists and white supremacists to bring government action to a screeching halt.

The filibuster is also an artifact of the Jim Crow era. It was used during the 1920s to block anti-lynching legislation. It was used shamelessly in the 60s to block civil rights legislation. And now, McConnell and his allies will wield it again to bury progress in McConnell's legislative graveyard.

We can't let that happen, and it's why I'm calling on the Senate to reform the filibuster NOW.

We need to call on the Senate to reform the filibuster without delay so politicians can no longer use it to continue the partisan gridlock in Washington that is hurting our country. Add your name next to mine to demand Senate leadership reform the filibuster »

Thank you,

Dwight
