Friend,

The will of voters is being tested again. This time in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District.

Newly elected Iowa Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks won her seat by a razor thin margin of 6 votes and now it appears that Democratic House leadership is trying to reverse the outcome.

This is no more acceptable than the efforts by former President Trump and Republican members of Congress' efforts to overturn the choices voters made in several states in the 2020 Presidential election.

Iowa has a robust process to count votes and litigate disputes in the post-election period. But the Democratic challenger's campaign is asking the U.S. House overturn the will of Iowa voters. There have only been three times in the last century when the U.S. House has overturned a contested House race, and the last time, in 1984, created anger in the body that lasted for years.

Just yesterday, Problem Solvers Caucus member, and Minnesota Democrat Dean Phillips, weighed in on this issue, saying, “Losing a House election by six votes is painful for Democrats. But overturning it in the House would be even more painful for America. Just because a majority can, does not mean a majority should.”

We're drawing upon our previous #RespectTheVote campaign to defend the voices of Iowa voters and we need your help.

Please take a moment to tweet at the Democratic leadership and let them know we need them to #RespectTheVote and the integrity of our elections.
