You’ve probably seen some of the headlines already, but for those who haven’t yet: it’s been a big couple of weeks for the progressive movement!

On March 6th, progressive organizers and Bernie Sanders supporters in Nevada swept their statewide Democratic Party leadership elections, including for Party Chair.

Make no mistake. This is a big deal. Statewide Parties are our last line of defense when it comes to protecting the gains we’ve made for regular, everyday people. They’re absolutely critical in preventing rightwing Republicans from taking control nationwide and setting our movement back decades.

As those of us in the movement know, however, the work of our progressive family in Nevada is far from over.

We already know that whenever grassroots organizers get a foothold, the establishment will double down and fight back. And that’s exactly what’s happening in Nevada right now.

You see, the establishment in Nevada knew that progressives were poised to make these gains ever since Bernie’s landslide victory in the caucuses last year. That’s why, shortly before the NV Dems’ elections this month, they transferred $450,000 out of the State Party’s bank account.

Now, they’re trying to work around the Party ahead of 2022 because they don’t think progressives know how to win. But we know firsthand here in St. Louis that that just isn’t true.
