We emailed you this morning about Mitch McConnell's plan to take back the Senate, but we're facing even more opposition than we feared.
We may have beat Trump at the ballot box in November, but Republicans are doubling down on their racist narratives, and if we don't resoundingly stomp them out again, their racist rhetoric could poison our national discourse for decades. We don't want to still be fighting Trump's copycats in 2050 -- and we know you don't either. That's why we have to stop them NOW -- before they can rebuild their momentum.
In the House, dangerous Q-Anon members are spouting racist lies -- and it's working for their base. And in the Senate, pro-Trump Republicans are gearing up to run against vulnerable Democrats and competing for open seats. Congressman Mo Brooks, one of the architects of the #StopTheCount movement, has already announced he'll be running for the Senate in Alabama.
Republicans fed this awful spike in hatred and violence against Asian Americans. Their leaders scapegoated our communities for the past four years -- and now they're doubling down on their racism while AAPI and other communities of color suffer the consequences.
John, we're redoubling our efforts to elect diverse candidates who champion progressive values. We are fighting to stop the next wave of Trump-inspired xenophobia. But we can't win this fight alone.
