The past year has been full of tough moments, tough days, tough months. But amongst the difficulty of it all, we have seen people (especially young people) come together in ways that are creative, powerful, and truly helpful.
Mutual aid, or supporting one another through the distribution of funds or goods, has increased tremendously in the past year. Many of you may have created mutual aid networks or supported others' through donating time, energy, money, or items.
Running a mutual aid network comes with a lot of learning. Learning how to mobilize people, learning how to encourage others to support one another, and learning how to manage money for the purposes of mutual aid.
Do you have a pile of receipts of Venmo transactions from mutual aid work you have engaged in? Do you have questions about the best way for your project to manage money, or questions about how to file taxes?Come join us and learn from activists from Buckle Bunnies, ReJAC, and FunkyTown Fridge about what they have learned about money management through their own mutual aid work. We will also be highlighting some of Dean Spade's previous education about money management in mutual aid as well.
