Join Huwaida Arraf, Amani Barakat, Zarefah Baroud, & Iman Alzaghari on Palestinian women’s resistance to Israeli oppression

Dear Supporter,

The Palestinian struggle for freedom is not complete without lifting up the central role of Palestinian [s]heroes in it. Despite the brutal Israeli occupation, Palestinian women have embraced roles other than that of a victim since the early 20th century. That makes Palestinian women’s resistance nearly as old as the celebration of International Women’s Day.

As mothers and daughters, doctors and lawyers, engineers and technicians, teachers and students, Palestinian women continue to fight for freedom from Israeli oppression regardless of where they live and under whatever conditions. As citizens of Israel, they struggle for equality. Living under Israeli military occupation, they organize against settler-colonialism. As refugees, they advocate for their right of return to Palestine. And living in the Diaspora on all continents, Palestinian women continue to resist in the global struggle to free Palestine from Israel’s apartheid policies.

This Women’s History Month, we salute the women of the world and celebrate their resistance against oppression and occupation from Jenin to Jerusalem.

We invite you to join us this Thursday at 9:00 PM Eastern LIVE on Facebook & YouTube to celebrate Palestinian women and their [s]heroic contributions featuring:

  • Huwaida Arraf, human rights lawyer and co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement;
  • Amani Barakat, Chairwoman of the Board of Al-Awda, The Palestine Right to Return Coalition;
  • Zarefah Baroud, a second generation Palestinian-American and Media Coordinator of AMP;
  • and Iman Alzaghari, also a second generation Palestinian-American and a member of the AMP’s Bay Area Chapter.

We hope you can join us for this event and please spread the word by sharing and retweeting on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Sincerely,

Shakeel Syed
West Coast Coordinator
