Friend,

Eleven years ago yesterday, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law.

Since then, it's made a huge impact on the lives of so many Washingtonians. Here in Washington state, the rate of people without insurance decreased from 14% in 2010 to an all-time low of 5.4% in 2016. Our work has provided health insurance to 750,000 more Washingtonians. That's tremendous progress.

Now it will get even better: Since the Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan earlier this month, many Americans will see expanded health care coverage as well as lower cost premiums and plans. Importantly, for low-income individuals, couples, and families, monthly premiums will drop dramatically, by the hundreds each month.

President Biden also recently opened a special enrollment period that allows Americans to sign up for health care through the exchanges until May 15, and so far, more than 200,000 Americans have signed up, including many thousands in Washington state.

But there's more work to do to get the word out. If you or someone you love needs health care coverage at an affordable price, take a look today at the Washington Health Plan Finder if you're in Washington state or Healthcare.gov if you live elsewhere.

The marketplaces are open until May 15th -- don't miss your chance to find good coverage at an affordable price.
