Hi John,
I hope you're keeping safe and well.
Many things in our lives have been cancelled or put on hold, but the exploitation of our seas hasn't stopped. Destructive fishing, pollution and climate breakdown are getting worse, pushing our oceans to breaking point.
You're one of 3.5 million people globally that have taken action to protect our oceans so thank you. This summer, governments from around the world will meet to decide the fate of our oceans - whether to increase protection for the benefit of people, wildlife and the climate, or to allow the destruction to continue.
Can you help keep up the pressure by sharing our petition with your friends and family?

Right now we're back at sea in the Indian Ocean to expose the threats that our oceans face. By safely working with communities who are leading the way in protection, and carrying out scientific research, we can learn more about these waters, and show governments around the world why all oceans need protection.
Here 100,000 whales and dolphins are killed every year by industrial fishing fleets that are meant to be catching tuna. [1] We've already seen this with our own eyes in the short time that we've been here and it's heartbreaking.
Together we can outnumber the greedy industries that want to keep profiting from the plunder of our oceans. The momentum of this petition is growing and the more people that sign it, the more pressure we can put on ministers in the run up to the final crunch talks in August.
Can you help raise awareness and share with your family and friends?

Healthy oceans are a key solution to tackling the climate crisis, so we must act. We'll deliver this petition directly to decision-makers in the UK government, and at the United Nations when the final crunch talks start, so voices of people that want to protect our oceans can be heard.
International cooperation has been successful in the past when millions of people took action. The ban on commercial whaling was an international effort that literally saved many species of whale from the brink of extinction.

Thanks for all you do,
