John,
Did you know that America’s 660 billionaires have seen a 44% increase in their wealth since last March―totaling $1.3 trillion?
While tens of millions of people throughout our country have been struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic―losing jobs and wages, fighting to keep a roof over their heads and lining up at food shelves to feed their children―the richest people in the country have never had it so good!
That’s wrong!
Now, Senator Elizabeth Warren has introduced a wealth tax to place a small tax on the mushrooming wealth of the richest 0.05%. Become a grassroots co-signer of Elizabeth Warren's wealth tax to fund our human needs agenda for millions of U.S. people and families.
Read Deborah's email below for more details about how a small tax on the richest 100,000 households could help transform our country and pull us out of this pandemic.
Thank you,
Nicolai Haddal Field and Events Manager, Coalition on Human Needs

Tell Congress:
"Poll after poll shows that two-thirds of the American people, including half or more of Republicans, support a wealth tax on U.S. fortunes of $50 million or more. To jumpstart our economy, address the racial wealth gap and help millions of people climb out of this pandemic recession, we urge you to immediately pass a wealth tax to raise $3 trillion over 10 years―paid for by making the richest 0.05% pay their fair share in taxes."

John,
We need a major investment in human needs. And one critical way to get there is for the rich and powerful to finally pay their fair share in taxes.
Now, we have a plan that’ll do just that.
Senator Elizabeth Warren’s wealth tax will generate $3 trillion in revenue over 10 years by placing a small tax on the richest 0.05% of American households. If you don’t have wealth over $50 million, you won’t pay a dime!
Become a grassroots co-signer of Elizabeth Warren’s wealth tax, which is critical to addressing poverty, inequality and the racial wealth gap―and advancing our agenda to meet human needs.
The wealth tax, officially known as the Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act, would place a small 2 cent tax on wealth between $50 million - $1 billion, and a 3 cent tax on wealth over $1 billion.
Just think: We could fully fund efforts to expand the Affordable Care Act and Medicare, improve the affordability of health care for older Americans and people with disabilities, expand rural health and mental health services, and fight the opioid epidemic.
We could repair our crumbling and dangerous infrastructure and create millions of good-paying jobs, transforming our economy away from fossil fuels and toward a green energy economy. We could build broadband access throughout our nation, opening the doors to the modern economy for all.
But that's not all we can achieve if the wealthiest pay more of their share.
These critical funds could also be deployed to strengthen public education, make childcare affordable for working families, provide universal preschool and free public community college, and expand access to more advanced education, while also wiping out a lot of student debt.
John, can you take 30 seconds and become a grassroots co-signer of Elizabeth Warren’s signature legislation―the wealth tax?
Two-thirds of the American people are on board. Now we need Congress to act.
Thank you,
Deborah Weinstein Executive Director, Coalition on Human Needs
