Dear John,

Since the 2020 election, 43 states have introduced, pre-filed or carried more than 250 bills to restrict or limit voting access. As the assault on voting access continues, we look to our elected officials in the Senate to safeguard our sacred right to vote.

Today, the Rules committee in the Senate will hold a hearing on S.1 — the For the People Act — a once-in-a-generation bill that will expand and protect the freedom to vote, end partisan and racial gerrymandering, get big-polluter money out of politics and restore transparency and accountability in our government.

This hearing will be led by U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Chairwoman of the Committee on Rules and Administration. As she has recognized,“the right to vote is under attack and special interests and dark money are drowning out the voices of the American people, we need to take bold action.”

Climate progress depends on a thriving democracy. Tell your senators to support the For The People Act!

These past few years have made it crystal clear that our community cannot effectively tackle the environmental issues facing our country — like combating the climate crisis, advancing environmental justice, and protecting our air, lands and waters — without fixing glaring issues in our democratic system.

The House has taken the first step towards comprehensive democracy reform, now it’s the Senate’s turn! Together, we can ensure that environmental concerns in every community are heard and legislative action is taken to solve critical problems facing our country.

Our voice is in the Senate’s hands. Contact your senators today and tell them to support S.1, the For the People Act.

Thank you for your support and leadership,
