Thank you for everything you do to protect and preserve your national parks.
Dear Friend of the National Parks,
Going to court to defend national parks and monuments is a last
resort for NPCA due to the costs involved and our preference for
legislative or regulatory remedies.
But sometimes litigation is necessary to hold our elected officials
and government agencies accountable to their obligations to protect
our public lands.
That's why our National Parks Legal Defense Fund has filed a
lawsuit against the National Park Service and the Department of the
Interior for failing to follow through on their promises to create a
protected marine reserve zone and begin phasing out commercial fishing
in Biscayne National Park, steps that are needed to protect this
magnificent marine ecosystem.
Biscayne is one of America's most iconic and inspirational
places - and NPCA urgently needs your help to keep it intact and
unspoiled. Can we count on you?

The National Park Service is bound by law to protect our most valuable
natural and cultural resources that belong to us all. That includes
Biscayne, which is home to the only living coral reef in the
continental United States, the longest stretch of mangrove forest
remaining on Florida's east coast, and important habitat for
wildlife such as sea turtles, lobsters, parrotfish and oysters.
That's why NPCA's National Parks Legal Defense Fund is
fighting to ensure that current and future generations can experience
the underwater treasures protected by America's largest marine
national park.
NPCA is standing up and speaking out for your national parks in
court. And we need dedicated new members and supporters like you
standing with us.
Please help NPCA make a strong legal defense of Biscayne and our
national parks legacy by investing in our National Parks Legal Defense
Fund today!

Thanks to your steadfast support, NPCA has an unmatched track record
of winning these high-stakes cases.
For example, we were party to the lawsuit that resulted in the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers rejecting a permit for the environmentally
disastrous Pebble Mine in Alaska's Bristol Bay watershed, which
would have jeopardized Katmai National Park and Preserve and Lake
Clark National Park and Preserve, home to the highest concentration of
brown bears in the world and world-class salmon fisheries.
NPCA's legal team has protected our national parks and public
lands from lasting damage. And while a new administration brings new
optimism for the future of our parks, we can't just sit back and
wait for that promise to be fulfilled.
You, me and everyone who cares about the future of national parks
needs to keep working with determination to protect, restore and
enhance America's favorite places.
Please join today to make your support go twice as far to help NPCA
mount a strategic and vigorous defense of our national parks and
monuments in the courts and beyond.
