Yesterday, the gunman in Boulder ended 10 precious American lives with what’s been what’s been described as an AR-15 style weapon.

The city of Boulder banned Assault Weapons until just last week when the NRA gun lobby stepped in and blocked the law in court. They made the community less safe and called it a victory:

The blood of every American lost to gun violence is on their hands, John.

The NRA is an extremist organization. They represent the interests of gun manufacturers, not gun owners, and they put profit above all else.

But I’ve had enough — the NRA must be held accountable, and if we stand together, we can end their influence over Washington forever.

Courage is channeling pain into progress, and even though my heart is hurting for all of us who have been affected by the gun violence epidemic, I am not giving up this fight.

The NRA has spent millions of dollars over the years demonizing me and our movement, and they’re gearing up to try and stop us from taking any action again.

So, I’m asking for your support today — we’ve defeated the gun lobby before, but it’s time we do it for good. Please make a contribution to help us continue to organize and fight for meaningful gun safety measures that will save lives.

I pray for peace and strength for us all,

Lucy
