John -- A day doesn’t go by without Brand New Congress Rep. Rashida Tlaib making headlines for all the work she is doing in Congress, and for her Detroit community.
Before Women's History Month comes to a close, we want to honor Rashida’s accomplishments AND highlight the importance of electing more progressive women to Congress in 2022!
Last Saturday in Redford, Michigan, Rashida joined a Teamsters Local Union to support their strike against parent company Keurig Dr Pepper. 7Up factory workers are fighting against a two-tier wage system and for fairer disciplinary processes.
“You all deserve to be able to provide for your family," Rashida told the crowd. "You shouldn’t have to beg them to do the right thing.”

Rashida is also pressuring President Biden to include a prohibition of water utility shutoffs in Congress’ next COVID relief package. This would greatly reduce water-related strife during a deadly pandemic.

“No person living in this country, whether Democrat or Republican, should be forced to survive without access to safe and clean water, let alone during a global pandemic.”

This week Rashida is demanding that the people of Washington D.C. finally receive adequate representation in Congress. She also signed on to the Build Green Act, a $500 billion investment in infrastructure that would create millions of well-paying jobs and improve public transportation, making it safer and more accessible.
She truly is a force of nature!
