Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to you today, in the wake of yet another tragic mass shooting in Colorado.
Everyday Coloradans and Americans go about their daily lives without fear. The last five years have placed immense anxiety and stress on each and every one of us. With one tragedy after another, we have lost our loved ones and the sense of safety and comfort that we as Americans hold so dear in our society.
The inaction of our legislature continues to have real world effects on our quality of life. Leadership is responsible. I am angry and like many of you, I want federal action to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
Americans should be able to shop for groceries without fear of death. Americans should be able to go to the movies, to their churches, to their favorite concert, and live in their homes without the fear of being shot and killed.
In this moment of tragic loss we must remember the victims and honor their lives by demanding legislative ACTION on common sense gun control measure that would have prevented this and so many senseless tragedies and loss of life.
Dysfunctional government should not be allowed to kill any more Americans. Hold your family close and your legislators accountable! Let’s restore the conditions that once made the American Dream possible.
Everyday Coloradans and Americans should be able to go about their lives without undue fear of being murdered. I will be going shopping today for the single mom that lives just down the street. She should not have to fear for her life when picking up groceries.
I promise to make gun violence prevention a cornerstone of my candidacy. So that no American has to live in fear.
We must defeat Ken Buck and or his complicit successor to ensure that Buck’s corruption plays no role in Colorado politics! Buck and his hand picked successor are nothing but paid corporate owned politicians, who will do nothing following this tragedy.
Sincerely,
Ike McCorkle
