Dear Friend,
This weekend, I had the honor of visiting the newly established Garland VA Medical Center’s coronavirus vaccination clinic. It was humbling to witness the incredible amount of progress the staff at the Garland VA have accomplished in under a year. I was proud to lead the bipartisan effort to secure the new Garland VA, which opened at the height of the COVID emergency last April.
The staff at the VA built an operation from the ground up, rushing to add desperately needed hospital beds to treat North Texas veterans suffering from COVID-19, and ready to support the health care system for non-veterans. As a marker of the incredible progress that’s been made against this horrible virus, the Garland VA’s COVID ward is now closed and they were able to vaccinate 500 North Texas veterans against the coronavirus when I visited on Saturday. I applaud the health workers and staff at the Garland VA for working tirelessly throughout this pandemic to deliver the care and support our local veterans deserve.

Veterans can learn more about where and when to get the coronavirus vaccine at the VA’s Vaccine Hub here.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services just announced that all adults will be eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine beginning Monday, March 29. More information on where and when all Texans can get the vaccine can be found here.
